We had a lovely weeks stay at Bay Stables. The location was idyllic, so peaceful ( never slept so well!) with so many things to do on the doorstep! Lovely walks through & around Mount Edgecumbe, to the local pub and to the foot ferry over to Royal William Yard. Plenty of good places to eat too.
The cottage was clean & very comfortable for our family of 5 adults plus our dog!
Would highly recommend and definitely return!

Bay Cottage is a fantastic holiday Cottage. We had a great time exploring the local area. Lots to do nearby, walks, Edgcumbe Park & house, pub lunches and fishing. The children especially loved their stay! The Wren family.

Bay Cottage is a delight. If you are looking to write a book and want somewhere to find mental-space and inspiration, this is the place. Unfortunately, I’m no writer, so we stuck to the walks amongst the stunning scenery in this wonderful part of Cornwall. Immaculately presented with very tasteful local art work adorning every room, Bay Cottage is a gem.

This is a first class property ideal for holidaying with family as we did. The property is ideally located for exploring the Tamar river by boat, is adjacent to Mount Edgecumbe Park, and the in close proximity to the conservation villages of Cawsand and Kingsland. The grounds of the cottage are secure which is ideal for taking the dogs on holiday as we did. The kitchen facilities are very good for self catering or alternatively there are good restaurants and pubs close by. We would thoroughly recommend bay cottage.

We loved our stay in Bay Cottage on the beautiful Rame Peninsula. This historic house is in a very private waterfront location behind impressive ivy-clad castle walls, ensuring complete peace and quiet throughout the stay. The house has many original features, but despite its age was very well presented and nicely furnished, and equipped with everything one needs for a comfortable stay. There were also some nice touches, such as fresh flowers and a bottle of wine, and the house was cleaned to a very high standard. The grounds and gardens are also beautiful with lots to see and explore without even leaving the property. That said, outside the walls there’s plenty to see and do in this ‘forgotten corner’ of Cornwall, including easy walks to the Edgcumbe House and Country Park, the Canteen at Maker Heights and the villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. There are also some lovely beaches within easy striking distance of the property. Dean was very communicative and responsive both before and throughout the stay. We hope to return one day and it goes without saying we highly recommend this very unique property.

Wonderful cottage in a fantastic setting. The place is really tucked away in a valley behind a castle wall and next to a centuries-old set of kitchen gardens. Walking through the gate is like walking into a fairy tale … albeit one with WLAN. The cottage itself is tastefully decorated but well equipped in a modern way.

This is what you would call a dream house! It is absolutely beautiful, it is a perfect mix of traditional cottage and modern with a beautiful bathroom and gorgeous kitchen and dining area. We were really lucky to stay when the weather was hot so we got to enjoy the garden with our dogs. Once you’re behind that castle wall you really feel as though you’ve locked the world away and time has stopped. It feels like the secret garden! It is all enclosed and really safe for the dogs which was a huge bonus! The cottage was well stocked with everything needed. What we particularly loved though was the books. So many books, every where you looked! It was like browsing a library. The same went for the DVD selection, so much thought into the little touches! Everything is beautifully decorated. We loved it and really didn’t want to leave.

We have been here since Saturday and it’s our third time here. We love it. The girls had started running baths before we had unloaded the car. The bathroom is to die for!! We brought our two chocolate Labradors and they love the gardens. So nice to come away from the hustle and bustle of it all to finally breathe and relax. Dean and Clover are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Still have another 3 days to go. Bring on the sunshine, cream teas and sunbathing in the gardens. X

Fantastic destination for a new years break with family. The house is beautiful – all the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Everywhere snug and warm. Lots of opportunities for walks from the house – Mt Edgcumbe Country Park just across the road – pub a mile away by road or coastal path – Cawsand and Kingsand 4-5 miles. Plenty of stunning beaches located around the area if you are prepared to hike down cliff paths. Location of house is spectacular, within the walls of the cottage garden; so peaceful and secluded.

Stunning cottage in an amazing location.
We stayed in Bay Cottage with 2 children and a dog and it was perfect! The cottage has been decorated beautifully but with enough personal touches to make you feel totally at home (the book collection is vast) We walked pretty much everywhere with a double pushchair- Mount Edgcumbe, Kingsand etc and took the boat over to Plymouth a few times- hardly used the car at all. Definately hoping to return.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage located in a beautiful pocket of Cornwall. Bay Cottage is the perfect place to unwind and relax with your family. The decor and facilities and just beautiful, we had everything we needed & more. My little girl especially enjoyed the gardens which were secure and well maintained to allow for fun and adventure (fairy hunting!). Our old family lab (14 years old) loved the walk to the local beach to cool down in the water due to the gorgeous weather. Perfect for all the family. Thank you again for having us.

Another lovely stay at this fantastic location! As always we never want to leave. The Cottage is so homely, clean and welcoming. We have been so lucky with the weather, especially for the time of year. A young stag visited us in the garden the 2nd day we were here! We visited the Barbican and Royal William Yard and both deserved a return visit. Can recommend the Canteen at Maker Heights and the Devonport Inn at Kingsand. Both serve delicious food and the staff are very friendly and obliging.

Thank you Dean and Clover for a superb cottage in lovely peaceful surroundings. Perfect location with great walks to Mount Edgcumbe. The kids enjoyed the freedom of the garden, the harbour and kayaking and frisbee golf at the Barrow Centre. A tour of the house is a must. Kingsand and Cawsand good to visit for the beach. We were lucky enough to be visited by three deer which came into the garden, as we never made it up to the deer park!
