We are a small, locally born and bred family run business, started in 2010 and sparked by our love of the beautiful Rame Peninsula and our unusual location on the Mt Edgcumbe Estate where we live. Attention to detail is our aim and we are constantly updating to keep the cottages and gardens fresh and vibrant.
The two properties are hidden away behind a spectacular tall, Castle like folly wall which was built in 1788 to protect the soft fruit, flowers and vegetables which were grown here in the walled Kitchen Gardens providing the manor house at Mount Edgcumbe. The place is seeped in rich history making for a unique holiday.
Bay Cottage was formerly the Head Gardeners Cottage for Mt Edgcumbe Estate and Bay Stables was the Stable block which has been redesigned and renovated into a cosy and bright barn conversion.
Both cottages are fully detached from one another, have totally separate and very large gardens with outdoor dining areas and private off-road parking.
Perfect for families with children of all ages and very dog friendly with fantastic walks along the coast path straight from the front door and into the 865 acre beautiful Mt Edgcumbe Country park.
Wether coming to visit Mount Edgcumbe or Polhawn Fort for a wedding, a passing out parade at HMS Raleigh or just a relaxing holiday to explore the beautiful twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand and the stunning beaches of Whitsand Bay, the Rame Peninsula has a lot to offer and is a stunning part of Cornwall. It is very unspoilt, friendly and welcoming. Beautiful sandy beaches and small fishing villages offering a selection of fine pubs, cafes, galleries and gift shops selling local wares are dotted all along the coast line. The Cornish Coast path connects them all so if you like walking, canoeing, surfing, sea swimming or just soaking up the seaside atmosphere then this is the place for you!.
There is plenty to do and see without leaving the Peninsula and we are also well situated for travel to attractions in both Cornwall and Devon. The Ocean city of Plymouth is just across the Tamar River (you can catch a pedestrian ferry which is 5 mins away from the Cottages) so you get the best of both worlds! It truly is a unique location.
The Kitchen Garden Cottages are perfect for people who like a peaceful coastal, country setting but just across the water from the city, close to fun attractions and gorgeous sandy beaches with a rich sense of history and nature.
